How much does it cost to curl?
League fees for the 2007-08 season are $330 per person for one league. An additional league costs $190 per person. There is also a social membership available for $50.
How many players are on a team?
There are four players on a team. Some teams have alternates but only four can play at one time. Teams in a Mixed league must have two men and two women but a mixed team can play in any league.
When does the season start and how long does it last?
The club will hold Open Houses and curling clinics in mid-November 2007 with league play slated to begin the following week. The season will run through mid-March 2008 with a break around the December holidays. Each league meets once per week.
What if I have no previous experience?
Curlers of all experience levels are welcome. First-time curlers are encouraged to attend an instructional clinic to be held at the club before the season. Sign up for our e-mail list to be notified of an upcoming clinic session.
Are lessons available?
There will be instructional clinics the first week that the club is
open. Clinics will be free to registered curlers, $25 for others.
Do I need a whole team to register?
You can register individually and be placed on a team. You can also join with a partial or complete team of four. Every effort will be made to place novices on a team with one experienced curler.
What equipment do I need?
The club will provide all the equipment necessary for an instructional clinic. League participants are expected to purchase their own broom (starting at about $40) and shoe slider (about $20). Brooms and sliders will be available for purchase at the club starting the first week.
Can I just come and watch?
Visitors are welcome. Viewing areas are in the ice arena, so dress warmly!
